Volt speed

Hi all, I’ve just been upgraded to virgin media 1gb via a volt free upgrade and it’s rubbish compared the 500 mb virgin media (I had absolutely no issues before).

Do you guys have any recommendations on how to solve my speed issues ?

when streaming I have buffering issues, my iPhone/iPad are really really slow unlike before.

I’ve powered down the new hub and has made absolutely no difference. Tried calling virgin media today but got board of waiting to speak to anyone after an hour being on hold.
Thanks in advance for any advice you all can provide

Try this first
____________

Do a Hub “pinhole reset” - first make sure the 2 passwords on the Hub sticker are still there and legible first ! Disconnect any ethernet cables from the Hub (leave the coax connected), and then with the Hub still "switched on" throughout, press pin in firmly with paper clip/SIM tray tool or similar "thin thing" and hold it firmly for at least 60 (a timed sixty) seconds, release the pin, leave for 5’ to stabilise - dont manually switch it off at any time. Passwords and SSID’s will reset to those on the sticker.

See if that sorts it.

I do not work for VM. My services: HD TV on VIP (+ Sky Sports & Movies & BT sport), x3 V6 boxes (1 wired, 2 on WiFi) Hub5 in modem mode with Apple Airport Extreme Router +2 Airport Express's. On Volt 350Mbps, Talk Anytime Phone, x2 Mobile SIM only iPhones.

Hi John do you recommend this even though it’s on the hub virgin say you need to get the 1gb ? It’s monstrously slow this morning

Hi John is this advisable on the hub 5 ? New hub ?

Hello Simbob79.

Thanks for your post and welcome to our community.

Sorry to hear about the slow speeds after the upgrade.

Can I please how things are looking now?

Were you able to perform the pinhole reset?

Hi Gareth, reset worked to a point but imo speeds are still poor and I really can’t tell if it’s made any difference
