Slow Upload Speed

Hi.

Recently I've been getting inconsistent upload speeds. Should be getting 36Mbps but on average only getting around 10Mbps. Download speed has always been fine. Seems to be worse during working hours, so may just be network congestion in the area. All speedtests have been completed hard wired. Can anybody technical please check the attached and verify all levels are normal. Thanks.

There is a problem with your Upstream, all 4 channels should be 64QAM.  This usually is an indication of noise ingress on the line.  VM will need to fix this.  You could try checking with Area faults on 0800 561 0061 or if you have a VM landline 150 in case it's a small local area problem.

Many thanks for the reply. I've checked and there aren't any faults in the area.

Is the only way to get VM to check the fault by phoning them to arrange a visit or can I request tech support on here? Thanks.

If you wait here a day or two a VM Mod will pick this up.

Thanks again.

Upload speed has been fluctuating most of the day but seems okay now and the modulation has changed to 64QAM. I've not reset or changed anything.

Do you or anyone else know whether this is normal or can something external cause interference?

Any VM Mod's going to pick this up for investigation please?

Does this graph help at all? Trying to video and conference call during the day is a pain. Upload speed is up and down constantly.

Anyone from Virgin able to help or do I need to suffer the dreaded call centre?

Hi hubbinslfc

Thanks for posting and apologies for the upload speed issue. There is an SNR (signal to noise ratio) issue that you are affected by. The fault reference is F008853234 and the estimated fix date is the 31st January. Please monitor the connection for me and let me know if still an issue after this time.

Best,
