Re: New M500 Customer (from 350) can't get above 300Mbps

Hi All,

Funnily enough I am having the exact same issue (thought I was going mad). Upgraded a couple weeks ago to M500, but speeds haven't changed, am hitting peak 360mbps, never seen the speedtest needle jump higher than 400mbps once!

Any suggestions on how to fix would be awesome. I have the router in Modem mode with Deco M4 mesh network around the house. Speed tested on Mac 5Ghz connection to primary router, on the WiFi settings on Mac am getting a TX rate of 325mbps as I type.

Thanks!!

Hi LordZoltan,

Thanks for replying. Are you able to confirm if your connection is OK? Having a look it appears you had spoken to your faults team this afternoon.

Cheers,

Corey C

Hi Corey,

Things are working okay, thanks, although I haven't hit the heady heights of 400Mbps that I did earlier since.  I've always been able to max my connection (when I was 200 and then 350) but I no longer can.

The folks here are saying that my power levels are way off and need to be corrected by an engineer, so it looks like I need a visit?

Re: New M500 Customer (from 350) can't get above 300Mbps

So engineer arrived yesterday - early, too, which was nice 🙂

Did some checks inside the house, nothing wrong there, then went out to the cabinet and changed some stuff.  Came back 10 minutes later to say all back in spec again.

Did a speed test and am now up at 530-550Mbps, which feels good!

It appears I have another issue now - but it's nothing to do with the virgin connection - one of my Ethernet-connected machines can only get about 220 - regardless of which LAN cable I use.  Another machine plugged into the next port along - with the same cable - can get 550!

Anyway, that's not for here.

Here's my power levels as they are now:

Try updating the NIC drivers.
