Internet speed issue

Hey all

Seen the countless threads but not sure if mine is the same issue.

I noticed alot of buffering so decided to do a speed test using ookla

What I've noticed is I cannot get more the 2mbps download but....

If I factory reset or just reboot router then immediately after reboot and connection becomes active I get returned speeds of 150+ mbps

I'm on a 300 or 350 package

any ideas why after less than a minute I'm capped at 2mbps?

Edit: just to add I've not had any issues like this before and only noticed yesterday evening it started becoming real slow...

Re: Internet speed issue

You need to provide a speedtest from a device with a known 1Gbps NIC wired to the HUB with WiFi off to see what you are ACTUALLY getting

Re: Internet speed issue

Doesn't matter the device

My phones always been able to top out the ookla speed test at 240-300mbps

My pc hard wired straight to router set in modem mode still only provides 4mbps.

Only way this goes up no matter the device is after a reboot of the router.... Then withing less than 3 minutes I'm down to the 2-4mbps

Theres no errors on router network status and all downstream up streams look comparable to someone else's post who was confirmed all OK....

Re: Internet speed issue

Well,  I contacted virgin through their text service and for a pretty prompt response. I was then contacted by phone and was told they didn't know. Think they've now given up. Awful company.
