Consistent Slow Speeds

Good Morning,

I have had consistently slow speeds for the last 2 weeks, no where near the 100mb i pay for - or the minimum. Your website suggests that there shouldn't be that level of slow down due to Covid-19 but i will understand completely if this is just congestion.

I range from between 10-20mbps down most of the time.

Is there a way someone can just check for a fault, rather than congestion with the phone lines closed,

Thanks

Re: Consistent Slow Speeds

This is still very much the case for large parts of the day i get download speeds of at best 15mb. Beginning to think it's just that the Hub 3.0 is a bit crap.

One thing I have tried since and has made a bit of a difference is logging onto the Hub and changing the settings so that the 2.4 and 5Ghz networks have different SSIDs (I've then hidden the 2.4GHz). Just ensures anything that can connect to the 5GHz is as a preference.

I've turned off the channel optimization as well. There's a really good guide in this post for anyone who wants to try something similar: https://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Speed/Slow-wifi/td-p/4081021

But ultimately might just replace the Hub.

Re: Consistent Slow Speeds

The Upstream is too high and the Downstream is bordering on too high as well.  Might be an idea to get these down a bit, but that requires an engineer.  The DHCP errors can be ignored as that's normal. The T3's are not however.

Setup a BQM monitor here and that will give a clear picture of the state of your incoming supply.  www.thinkbroadband.com/ping
