516Mbps now available as a standalone package

Virgin Media have made their 516Mbps tier available as a standalone package for the first time (no TV bundle required).

For the new 516Mbps customers will pay £46 a month for 18 months (then £62 a month) for a standalone broadband package

A 516Mbps Broadband and phone bundle is also available priced at £52 a month for 18 months for new customers, then rising to £69 a month.

You should really get a hub 4 with that.

A Hub 4 isn't needed for the 500Mb tier currently.

Re: 516Mbps now available as a standalone package

Can see for new customers but not for current with same postcode (on phone to retention right now as out of contract).

Upload kind of poop as not 10% like lower Tiers.

Ideally I would not want the current Hub 4 (also 💩).

Re: 516Mbps now available as a standalone package

Hi  brooksy,

the post above yours shows the results of a speed test by jhuk. This seems to indicate that after calling to switch to the 500Mbps his request was successful as his speed is now showing 546Mbps.

You should call again, i'm afraid it was a mistake by the offshore staff member not being aware of the new standalone package.

Re: 516Mbps now available as a standalone package

The package may not be on the numpties system for existing customers only new customers as it was not that day.

Advice you never call them to upgrade but call retentions (I was just out of contract but still in my discounts period).

Re: 516Mbps now available as a standalone package

546Mbps down and 40Mbps up?

I thought Virgin adverts as 516Mbps down and 37Mbps up?
