I live in Sunderland SR3. My area ref is showing 22. After checking on google it, Sunderland does not come under 22.
Ive been having problems with Paypal advising me Im logging in from another device. Area Hounslow. Ive not bothered to do anything about it before because it still lets me purchase. I had to use Gov gateway and it asked me security questions for something. One was to choose one of the 5 addresses as one I am or have been registered at with a device and Sunderland did not come up. One was London TW3 though!!
Can someone help please?
Many Thanks
Amanda 🙂

I think you are confusing things here.
Virgin area codes relate to their customer billing systems, not to any internet connectivity. Virgin took over many other cable companies round the country & each of these was allocated a different billing code.
Your issue seems to be related to your IP address detected location. These are do not actually have fixed locations, so when addresses get reallocated to another customer (which doesn’t happen often, but is a normal process) then internet equipment has to “learn” where the new location of the IP address is. The previous IP address user was likely resident in London.

There is nothing you can do. IP address allocation is a totally automated process & there is no way to force changes. As I mentioned, internet sites have to learn when locations change, which can take several weeks.
