Wires

Hi,

We have just cut a bush back in our front garden in preparation for a new lawn etc to be laid, the wire for our virgin media comes out of a green tube at the top of the garden the is slung under the Bush until it then goes in the house.

Should this have been covered at installation or is this how it should be left?

Thank you

Shannon

Re: Wires

The cable should be buried as far as possible, but there are no laid down rules. Right back since the start of cable services in the 1990s, installers have only ever used a spade to drop the cable a few cm below the surface. Many of the first installations did not use the green trunking, just the ground opened & the bare cable dropped in. It’s up to you if you want to cover it, but any additional work Virgin are called out for that is not fault related will cost £99.
