Hi.
I'm about to buy some f type connectors for an extension cable that I have had my builder run under the floor. I'm away so can't measure.
What is the diameter of the f connector 1. to the wall? and 2. to the box?
Are they both 10mm? 7mm? it looks like there are a few different sizes!

You cannot use your own cabling for VM.

VM use cable that cannot be purchased anywhere. Their technicians will not use any cable installed by you. What you can do is have trunking with a pull wire installed and the VM technician will use it.

VM use specialist cabling that is designed to keep frequencies used by Freeview, Digital Radio & mobile phones out of their network. TV Aerial & Satellite cable is NOT screened against this, & can leak noise onto Virgin's network. If you want to risk disrupting the entire streets services, that is your choice, but you would be advised against it. VM will charge £25 to pull the correct cabling & fit the correct connectors. If the change in length affects your signal levels the tech will adjust these in the street cabinet. VM is entitled to charge you for other peoples callouts if it can be proved that you were the cause of interference on the network.

Are extension leads also not allowed even if the correct cable is purchased?

As already stated above, you cannot buy the correct cable. Your can buy lots of cables with a similar name but they do not have the same internal construction.
