The first UFC event of 2021 takes place in Abu Dhabi this weekend as Conor McGregor returns from retirement and steps into The Octagon against American Dustin Poirier. You can watch all the action this weekend on BT Sport Box Office with Virgin TV.

McGregor, a former lightweight and featherweight champion, hasn’t fought for 12 months after announcing he was retiring last year. It will be fascinating to see how he does against an opponent who he has history with. The pair fought back in 2014, where McGregor took a little over 100 seconds to secure victory through a technical knockout.

Poirier is a much improved fighter since then, winning 10 fights, setting this contest up as a much closer battle. Expectations will be high, especially after McGregor tweeted earlier this month promising ‘a masterpiece’. The touch paper is lit and it looks like being an explosive night of UFC action.
