Anthony Joshua steps into the ring for the first time in 2020 this weekend, defending his three Heavyweight titles against Kubrat Pulev. We last saw Joshua twelve months ago as he made amends for his shock defeat to Andy Ruiz Jnr by defeating the Mexican-American in a rematch to reclaim his WBA, WBO and IBF titles. Now Joshua gets to defend his titles for the first time against Bulgarian Kulev. You can catch all the action on Sky Sports Box Office with Virgin TV.

Although there is much talk about a potential heavyweight showdown between Joshua and Tyson Fury next year, AJ first needs to overcome Pulev, who has 28 wins in his 29 fight career. His last shot at a title came in 2014 when he was beaten by Wladimir Klitschko. A steady run of wins since then has brought him back into the picture – and he can’t be easily discounted.

This fight will also be the first since the start of the pandemic to have fans in attendance, with around 1,000 lucky people watching the action unfold and providing the atmosphere from inside the SSE Arena, Wembley. Couple that with a strong undercard, and it promises to be a great night of boxing action.

Undercard

Lawrence Okolie v Krzysztof Glowacki – WBO World Cruiserweight Title

Hughie Fury v Mariusz Wach

Martin Bakole v Sergey Kuzmin
