access to commercial site blocked

Dear Sir,

I am seeking help with a longstanding internet access problem.  From my desktop I have been unable to access the cpc.farnell.com website for some time.  If I use another computer at a different location or if I connect via my mobile I can connect.  This is rather tiresome.

From the browser the error message that I get is:
Access Denied
You don't have permission to access "http://cpc.farnell.com/" on this server.
Reference #18.c367a5c.1596221360.a9e1c01
or
Access Denied
You don't have permission to access "http://cpc.farnell.com/" on this server.
Reference #18.7ca71002.1596222129.105378d8

When I perform a trace route from the desktop I get:

Tracing route to e3380.a.akamaiedge.net [96.6.120.9]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

1 6 ms 6 ms 7 ms 10.165.36.1
2 14 ms 22 ms 9 ms 80.1.61.65

8 16 ms 14 ms 15 ms a96-6-120-9.deploy.static.akamaitechnologies.com [96.6.120.9]

Trace complete.

I have identified that akamaitechnologies is the company that cpc farnell use for their network infra structure router.

I have contacted cpc farnell several times and they have not responded.

A blacklist test on some tools, not all gives:
Checking [REMOVED] (cpc110327-king12-2-0-cust548.19-1.cable.virginm.net). Please wait a minute for the checks to complete.

This hostname of: cpc110327-king12-2-0-cust548.19-1.cable.virginm.net
appears to be associated with my neighbour, the late Mr R King.  His wife survives him.  I suspect that access to the cpc.farnell.com web site is being denied because my ip address has been confused with my neighbours by virginmedia.

I would like this matter resolved in the next 7 days.

I hope there is someone form VirginMedia to respond.  I have been unable yo find a way to get this message direct to VirginMedia.

If the mater is not resolved in 7 days I will report the matter to the CEO's office and to the the relevant ip regulator.

I am tired of trying to get virginmedia to deal with this.  I have been trying for about 4 years!

Regards,

David Pyycock

Re: access to commercial site blocked

It looks like their server is blocking your IP Address.

Quick check, if your hub is in Router Mode change it to Modem Mode and vice versa then try the website again.

Check your IP address at this >> site << be aware it does take a few minutes.

Re: access to commercial site blocked

Hello

With what you have posted I believe that the connections is being blocked due to your external IP address is blocked as having a bad reputation, if you check https://www.akamai.com/us/en/clientrep-lookup/

The technology that the site uses is what is blocking you.

Regards Mike

King is an area name and all customers in your area will have it in their hostname. It doesn't relate to your Neighbour's surname.

I think it is for King's Norton which covers parts of Birmingham and nearby areas.

Dear Sir,

I have been struggling for 4 years for a problem the routing of connections to cpc.farnell.com from my desktop.  I have posted this issue and post has been removed with no response.  VirginMedia staff need to up their game and step up to the plate.

Here is a copy of my previous posting

Re: Network routing problem

Hello

Please do not multi post yourr issue your answer has been given in your previous post https://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Networking-and-WiFi/access-to-commercial-site-blocked/m-p/43504... the reason you are getting blocked by the website is that they use a reputation score you are not being blocked by VM but by the website you are going to have to contact them.

I have merged your posts.

Regards Mike
