Virgin Media Connect App will not connect to hub 3

I am trying in vain to connect the Virgin Media connect app to my hub 3. I have currently tried the following:

Download connect app

Signed in with my Virgin Media primary username

Reset hub

Ran connect app

Could not find hub 3

Disconnect wifi extenders

Try app again

Could not find hub 3

Turned off anti-virus

Ran app

Could not find hub 3

Lights on hub not flashing

Nothing appears to work, I would be very grateful of some advice of what I can do to get my wifi working.

Re: Virgin Media Connect App will not connect to hub 3

You don't need the Connect App to "get Wifi working".

What are you trying to actually achieve?

Re: Virgin Media Connect App will not connect to hub 3

My wifi works only with a weak signal. I have a 100 mbps connectivity therefore I think that I should be getting a better wifi signal.

How do i get a better wifi signal if I do not use the Virgin Media Connect App?

Your speed/bandwidth has nothing to do with WiFi signal strength.
Or speeds for that matter, as only wired speeds are guaranteed.

Re: Virgin Media Connect App will not connect to hub 3

Split/rename the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands.

Choose less congested channels for each band, disable "Smart WiFi".

Failing that you can put the hub into Modem Mode and add your own better router or mesh system.

Re: Virgin Media Connect App will not connect to hub 3

If you have an Android mobile phone there is an App you can download that allows you to "look" at the Wifi networks close to you. Its called WiFiman.

This allows you to "see" if there are other networks using the same Channel as you are.  Its possible to configure the Hub3 to used a different wifi channel/s.

Regards

kk

Re: Virgin Media Connect App will not connect to hub 3

Thanks, I have downloaded the app and set the router on various channels that appear to have less traffic. But on no channel do I get a strong wifi signal, most channels are either weak or medium.

Re: Virgin Media Connect App will not connect to hub 3

Then you need to invest in your own better wifi equipment and run the hub in modem mode
