Unserviceable flat despite fibre in the flat?

Hi all,

I'm moving to a flat I used to live in before and had Virgin Media internet then.

I tried to move my account to the new address but I'm told either that they cannot find my address even though it is registered on Royal Mail which is what they asked me to find out, or that they just can't have it there because cabling wasn't installed and not showing on their systems.

I spoke to the owner of the building who was surprised and said to me that the entire building had fibre fitted and that he already has virgin media in a flat below, but I'm being told that I have to wait anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 years for some "spotter" to have a look and see.

I pleaded with Virgin Media representatives to have someone visit and have a proper look but no luck, what are my options? Should I independently find a Virgin Engineer to have a look and see?

If anyone could help me with this I'd be grateful!

Best,

Ernest

You can’t “independently” find and engineer. It has to be booked by VM.

Thanks for the reply.

I spoke to Virgin Media representatives on several occasions now, and they all say they can book anyone on a specific date, just a spotter who can take years to come and see.

And then I say independently, I'm talking more about having someone who also works freelance to come and see and give me a professional opinion that I can then use when talking to Virgin Media again.

Best,

Ernest

Virgin won’t take note of what a third-party says or recommends in all honesty. It’s down to then where they do and don’t install.
