So has hub 5 for a week or so and it’s decided it doesn’t want to issue up numbers to devices I can cent with manual setting but not automatically via lan or Wi-Fi. I’ve reset the hub all ways to no available the virgin media middle ware is the usual rubbish and just doesn’t work.
anyone know how to release the ip table?
I’ve performed full factory resets, changed modes, changed HDCP settings, changed lease times but nothing works several devices in the table with no ip address.
customer service call placed actually got through to someone useful for a change but all he could do was put me to through to a chargeable helpline I’m not paying to fix a hub fault or book a visit for Monday and the installer will be just as pissedboff as me for having to come out for such a stupid reason and then I’ll have to change all my devices to the new hub again….
someone must know how to force the hub to actual cleared status not the crrap reset virgin software performs. I need to clear the ip allocation table and echo settings.
it seems this is a known issue searching here and elsewhere but obviously as per usual customer services are not aware of such a thing.

Hub 5's with a broken DHCP server is a well know bug, folks with many devices quickly run into it.
If a Hub 5 is supplied to us we shall buy a 3rd party Router,
We don't have any intention of being faced with Hub 5's severe WiFi and DHCP defects that VM appear unable to fix.

That’s what I suspect but not being able reset it to defaults and clear the DHCP is a major flaw and VM stance as usual seems to be there is no problem, no one else has it blah blah.
it’s the same old problem on all the hubs the portly designed and implemented VM middleware which I understand it both brands “their” devices and offers better basic support to customers but when things go wrong and it should be an easy fix.
all my devices that were connect by access point now can’t connect any devices I’ve clicked forget network on can’t connect unless input manual details in and then I can access the hub only.
it seems to have changed the subnet to 255.255.0.0 and the IP address range to 169.254.218.x range.
I’m thinking it linked with the poorly arranged hub phone system but that’s a guess but that’s a nightmare too

"subnet to 255.255.0.0 and the IP address range to 169.254.218.x range" - this is what a Windows PC does when the DHCP server does not respond.
Most of the VM Hubs need a 60 second press of RESET button, then just leave the Hub powered on to perform the factory reset.

Yup give in and get a better router.
or maybe change the DHCP range to 192.168.0.10 to 192.168.0.11 and see what happens then change back to what you want.

Done all the resets switched off for 12hrs the DHCP table seems to be controlled at virgins end now and won’t release till 4th of April by the looks of it.

That will be for the IP of the HUB, not your local devices.
Try changing the range to 192.168.50.x, for example.

Easiest fix… turn off “smart Wi-Fi”, and save, then turn it back on, fixes it for me.

Trying the smart Wi-Fi tip now so far no luck but it doesn’t seem to be saving it properly so I’m gonna try a couple of times and do a full with it disabled
