No internet connection

Hi,

Having an issue with some wireless devices saying they are connected but have no internet access whilst having a mostly full signal. for instance, my phone, laptop and iPad will all be on wifi in the same room, but my iPad says no internet access whilst my phone is working. All my wifi devices randomly drop connection. I have rebooted the router which resolved the issue for about   an hour but then happens again. Anyone got any ideas how to resolve.

are wired connections OK?

Check the Wi-Fi with a free analyser app - see if there are neighbouring hubs.

Look at getting a better router with hub as a modem

I know a bit about Wi-Fi, Telecoms, and TV as I used to do it for a living but I'm not perfect so don't beat me up... If you make things you make mistakes!

Wired connection are fine

You could try separating the SSID's of the 2.4 and 5 GHz wifi bands on the Hub3 (is that what you have?) and also switching off "channel optimisation" - that often helps Hub3 users get better wifi performance - but its still no substitute for better kit.

To address wifi issues, VM now supply “wifi pods” (not “boosters”). These are free to customers on the 1GB or Ultimate Oomph packages, and so are worth trying if you are on one of those. There are stock supply issues at the moment though.

Otherwise, you will be charged £5/month - and at that level of investment you would soon pay off that cost by buying a "better" wireless solution that will be yours to own and use forever
