Incorrect Charge for Missing Equipment?

I have recently left virgin media and I have moved out of my address.

An engineer came to my past address and collected the old equipment from my account after I had moved out.

My previous housemates informed me that the engineer had taken the old superhub. However virgin are still trying to have me pay for the old equipment as they “haven’t received it via post”?

Has this happened to anyone else before?
