While I'm no cable network technician, if the whole neighbourhood has been experiencing the same T3 and T4 errors indicating an upstream connectivity issue with the CMTS, you would have thought that testing/monitoring the main upstream/return path to the head end/CMTS would be the first troubleshooting step.
I'm also amazed the VM doesn't have monitoring in place to detect faults, perform trend analysis, predict failures etc with its major infrastructure components.
Now we just have to wait 72 hours to see if this new equipment has resolved the issue. 🤞
I'm guessing the 3 overnight outages last night was the final straw for the on-call engineer as whatever the issue was caused a bigger issue as there is finally a service status update for something going wrong.
ps As they are swapping all the kit out we should have asked them to upgrade it so that we can get the Gig1 service 😉
