SNR = Signal to noise ratio
Signal = good
Noise = unwanted!
If the SNR gets too low - the modem won't be able to adequately hear the signal over the noise and you lose packets (parts of the conversation)

I am still experiencing issues on this. Yesterday was fine and the wi-fi was running without any issues, it was a bit slow, but working. Today, the signal keeps on dropping out.
