The web status page appears to be erratically and intermittently updated, and what (for VM) are minor area faults are never shown, probably because there's loads of these and they're usually fixed relatively quickly. So no point worrying about that, although it is a pity that VM don't implement much better customer communication on faults.
Because there is an area fault, no other faults in the area will be logged and fixed (give it some thought, it does make sense). So I would suggest that whilst you may not be happy, you can only sit it out.
Hopefully the forum staff can chip in and tell you the fault reference and the resolution date. because if there is a unique problem on your line, then as soon as the area fault is resolved you'll want to report that and get it fixed.
