Voicemail PIN overseas

Hi, I'm currently in Italy and received voicemail, when I tried to listen to it I was asked for PIN which I've never set up, I tried the advice on website that said put in any PIN and I would get option to change it but I just got locked out instead, could anyone advise me of what I can do please...
