A final update…

My VM broadband was turned off on time as expected, the day after my new service (with Vodafone) went live. So I’m VM free 😀

I have to say that the Openreach install was very good, Vodafone router works great with my Linksys Velop system (I have the Vodafone WiFi turned off). 
Day to day use shows no obvious difference in browsing, streaming 4K, etc. Although I have dropped from M500 (never actually saw 500mbps) to 65mbps there has been no impact in how I use the internet. 
Overall leaving VM and O2 has saved me £45 a month. Very happy!

You've got to get over Virgin Media's billing and equipment return hurdles before you reach the finishing post!

Equipment was collected yesterday by a VM engineer and I received an email a few minutes later confirming it had been returned.

I am just waiting for my refund now......
