If I go on holiday for a couple of weeks or more and I disconnect my line, will I have to pay in full for the whole period, or could I ask for a suspension during the time I use zero data?

Effectively you are paying for the 'service' to be provided to an address, it's irrelevant if you actually use it or not.

I doubt this is going to be a viable option.

The data usage is only part of the monthly fee, there is also the line provision and the Hub rental to consider.
