Hi there, hope you can help!
Have run into a block trying to port my landline number from BT. I spoke to Customer Services team a week before the installation date, and they assured me that the Porting Team were dealing with my phone number transfer. The new equipment was installed last week (Weds 5 October) and the engineer advised that the phone number had not been ported at that stage. It still appears not to have been ported. My BT landline is still in operation but is being cut off on 26 October. From reading other posts, I am desperate to ensure that the porting happens before the line is disconnected. So I have a week to get this sorted.
Can someone here assist please? Thank you.

Welcome to the community forums.
Sorry to hear your number has not been ported, so long as the number is still active on BT's side we'll be able to request this and get the number ported.

I asked to keep my BT number when I signed up to the Virgin contract.
Today the new hub was installed but the landline number has not been transferred. This is a huge problem because I use that number for work.
BT have already deactivated my number. Now stuck with a Virgin number that is of no use to me.
BT say Virgin must contact Open Reach up retrieve my number.
Please advise how to get out of this muddle. Not a good start to the new service.

Thanks for your post on the forums, I am sorry about this issue with porting over your number to us from BT.
If you notified BT that you wanted to take your number over to us, they should have left the account open long enough for our number port team to transfer it.
As they have closed the account down too early our request to port the number hasn't been able to go through.
Whether we can get the number back from the main owner of the number relies heavily on how long it's been since the BT account has been closed for.
Can you tell us when BT disconnected your account please?
