Phone socket and Hub

I'm looking at the instructions here: https://www.virginmedia.com/help/landline/switchover

The Hub 4 is located by the TV and VirginTV box (quite rightly).  My home phone is located in the hallway.

In the intructions, it looks like I will need to put the phone in the same room as the TV?

Why is this - when the Virgin engineer put a Virgin Media phone socket in for me in the hallway?

Any advice?

Hi Peter,

Welcome back to our community forums and sorry to hear you are having issues with the placement of your landline service for your Landline switchover.

Your landline will have to be connected to the back of your hub as seen here https://www.virginmedia.com/help/landline/switchover. If you still want the landline in the hallway, we would advise getting cordless phones where the main landline is connected to the hub and other devices can be placed anywhere you wish in the home.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any further help.

Thanks,
