Landline Phone installation

Hi,

I’ve just bought a landline phone and I would like to use it, so as I’ve seen on the guide video I connected it to the suitable wall socket but it remains absolutely mute. I had a landline phone before and it was working fine on that connector.

Somebody could help me with that?

Re: Landline Phone installation

1) Have you got a landline on your VM account? If you haven’t it won’t work anyway.

2) Are you plugging the phone into a VM master socket? If you previously had BT, their line will be dead as VM do not use BT infrastructure.

3) If you don’t have a VM master socket you should be able to get a new line provisioned through your VM hub.

Re: Landline Phone installation

Can you take the landline phone to someone else's place to plug it into their socket to check that it works.

Re: Landline Phone installation

Yes I have landline phone on my account, however I think that’s not a VM master socket. Shall I connect it to the VM hub then?

Re: Landline Phone installation

Hi Tannergabe,

Sorry you're having an issue with your landline after getting a new handset.

Is this still an issue for you now?

Does the handset have mute options or volume options on it? Are they on?

Re: Landline Phone installation

Spoiler

Yes I still have an issue. The handset doesn’t have a mute or volume button but it has a screen and there’s nothing on it when It is connected, so I suppose so something wrong.

Thanks Tannergabe,

I'll pop you a personal message so we can have a closer look at how your landline should be connected and get things sorted for you.
