Hi
I just received a fibre phone adapter today - no idea when switchover date is.
My issue is that the router is one floor up and the phone socket is on the floor below.
Moving the router is not an option and I am not wanting to have to run cables all the way upstairs.
What are my options please?

Thank you for your reply.
We understand you wish to keep the set up as it is at the moment but in order to continue to use the home phone service, it would need to be connected to the Hub.
We can arrange for a relocation but can see this is not something you wish to do and respect your decision. With that being the case, a base unit for a cordless set up can be attached to the Hub and cordless phones can be used throughout to avoid disruption.
Please do let us know how you wish to proceed.
Thank you,
I am amazed when occasional topics about this head off at a tangent like this.
The OP is requesting that their existing phone sockets are linked to the new phone connection from the VM hub as part of the switchover process.
There are several topics about doing this every week where connecting to existing phone extensions are agreed no problem.
Here's a topic describing the work that was done, resulting in a happy customer
Why is this topic and request any different? There are usually options to route cables externally to avoid excessive internal disruption.

Thanks for your comment goslow, my colleague has basically advised we can send a tech out for the relocation and also suggested something else as well.
Hi @sjmatchett - let us know if you'd like us to send a tech for this and we'll be glad to assist you

But neither of the two options was what the OP wanted, nor what has been offered many times over on other topics.

It is possible to do what you want but it is not a 'wires free' task as you need to link the phone socket on the back of the VM hub to your existing phone extension socket wiring.
If you have an existing phone socket near to the hub, it can be done with an adapter as per message #9 here
https://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Forum-Archive/HUB3-to-Master-socket-adaptor/m-p/4507007#M143805
if not, then the process would be to fit a phone socket next to the hub and link that in to your existing phone wiring.
You may find if you relocate the hub that your wireless reception around the home may change as the hub will be in a different location. Moving the hub may just resolve the matter of phone connection only to create a new problem with poor wireless connectivity. For this reason, moving the hub is not a useful suggestion.
You may need to work it all out with the VM tech who turns up to do the work.

@John_GS this will be for the engineer to enable the existing phone socket on the floor below the hub to be linked via a cable to the hub on the floor above?
If so please contact me to book in.
