Routing changes every day and kills my game for 20+ minutes (Everquest 2)

For the past few days from about 11:45pm to 12:15am I get kicked from the game I'm playing (Everquest 2) and I can't re-connect until 20m or more. By then the group or raid has went on without me.

Resetting the game, computer or router does not help.

Access to other websites works fine during this time.

After seeing this issue with another game a few months ago (Eve Online) I checked the routing to the servers (daybreakgames.com) and found that the routing actually changes at least on a daily basis and looks different when the game is broken compared to when it's working.

I'll keep updating this post with tracerts that work and don't work below

Hop 7 seems to be the key difference from when it is and isn't working since I've been monitoring the routing

I can only assume the routing is changed to suit the load on the VM network as and when it is needed.  I would have no idea how you could get around this really. ?

Due to the times mentioned (11:45pm-12:15am) this was probably the recent midnight fault which has now been fixed:

I've not yet been kicked from the game but it feels like it's about to. I'm now getting short timeouts every few minutes spoiling gameplay:

The route is drastically different to the 'normal' route

Well I'm still having a lot of timeouts lasting several seconds on 1 Gig down broadband for a game that works on a dial up modem 😕

More issues every few seconds, short timeouts:

These appear to be Liberty Global servers located in Europe.  Not sure why the traffic would be routed over that network, when the end point is in Florida?

Eve Online had a similar issue. It routed traffic through Amsterdam just to come back to the UK.

Developers got on to VM and it was fixed after 2 weeks. Daybreak don't seem to be bothered and are leaving it up to individuals to report it.
