Ok, so is there an email address in the box? If so it yours? That would explain why you are getting duplicates.

Delete the address and untick the boxes.

You haven't finished yet. If there is an unexplained entry in any of the e-mail settings in web mail it could be the sign of a clumsy attempt to hack your e-mails and divert them elsewhere. Unless of course you or someone you know made the entries (which I doubt from what you say).

You need to follow the guidance here (well at least the relevant bits)

https://www.virginmedia.com/help/virgin-media-mail-my-email-has-been-hacked

particularly change your password in My Virginmedia and in all your e-mail programs to match.

It's you two who deserve the thank you. This has been driving me mad since Monday. I tried to sort it myself doing various things but they didn't work. I didn't know where else to turn. I've wasted so much time.

@Lottie57 We come here because we like it, we like helping and I like the intellectual challenge of figuring stuff out. I won't speak for @coenoby but I hope he feels the same or similar. We both have some IT background but we aren't specialists. You turned to the right place (who'd have thought there was right place?) The collective experience of users is what makes the Forum work so well when things seem tough. Take some time to scan through the various sections of the Forum (especially now we all seem to have time on our hands) and you'll be surprised what you can learn.

I am reasonably confident that you could not previously auto forward to the email address associated with the recipient mailbox; @ModTeam please raise as a bug with the email team.
