Changing password on ntl account

AndrewPW
Tuning in

I have recently tried to change my wife's email password. MIne is already changed. As instructed by the help desk I successfully changed both passwords on webmail. I had apparently overcome the issue that my wife's original password was subsidiary to mine as I was an early adopter of ntl (her password used to consist of one letter and 9 numbers). The problem that has arisen is that my wife's emails are still arriving on my desktop in Outlook, using the old password, but do not come in on either my laptop or her android phone, using either the new or old password.

I am unsure whether to use pop3 which used to be on the android or imap elsewhere.

Thanks for any assistance you can give

Hi AndrewPW,

Thanks for posting, and sorry to hear you've had some issues with the email accounts.

It might be that the password reset on your Wife's email has not hit the pop3 servers.

Can you delete all details relating to your Wife's log in in Outlook. Then add the new details set up?

Many thanks. When I had posted my question I looked again at my wife's phone where her emails had then arrived. This may have happened because I signed on on webmail and confirmed the new password or, as you suggest because the change takes a while to propagate on the pop servers. I noted that the settings on her phone are pop3, whereas those for Outlook on our desktop/laptop are IMAP. I assume that this is because it is an android phone.

Our laptop on Windows 10 shows my emails but not my wife's when I last looked, but hopefully this will resolve itself. Perhaps I could return for your help if this does not happen.

In the meantime I repeat my thanks for your involvement.
