Hi I get lots of spam emails and I have been blacklisting them . When I tried to blacklist one tonight I got a message saying I had exceeded my blacklist limit and to delete some addresses. I don’t want to do that and get more spam. Can anyone help. Why on earth has virgin put a limit on how many addresses you can blacklist. Not very customer friendly

Hi Barbarella
i was having the same problem last year Blacklist full VM got m3 to count how many I had blacklisted It was 167. I complained and complained and they basically said they couldn’t do anything I ended up taking the case to the Ombudsman and won compensation Now I forward all phishing, filthy emails, bitcoin emails etc to report@phishing.gov.uk They acknowledge each email and mine have been cut down from lots received every day to 2 or 3. Hope this helps

I have the same issue - if VM want to offer me some money ~£345 I'd take it. Why have a Blacklist cap at all. System advises limit is now reached and the advise on the system is to delete some entries - forgive me but how will that aid not getting this [REMOVED] through into our mailboxes.
3 emails today received [Removed] with the but with different names at the beginning i.e.
Marriage Tax Online [Removed]
Offer-house [Removed]
ISA Finder [Removed]
I thought it would be easy to block emails from our accounts but VM also advise that to get help to do this will actually cost me money from their specialist team. I pay a lot of money to VM each month and a lot of time trying to get rid of [REMOVED] so I can actually deal with my proper emails
Any suggestions welcome. I have tried several methods as reported in the VM Community.
Cheers

I now send all my spam and phishing emails to the National Cyber crime centre report@phishing.gov.uk Now I’m’lucky’ to get a couple per day I also pay a lot of Monet to VM and to be told they could do nothing about this was unacceptable That’s why I decided to take they to the ombudsman He upheld my complaint I refused the first amount VM offered and they then offered me a higher amount which I accepted. I used Resolver to start my case You have to complain to VM first before you can invoke the ombudsman At the minute VM aren’t accepting complaints through Resolver but you can get template letters from them to send by post Good luck

The Blacklist function's criteria is the email address not the display name, i.e. blacklisting ISA Finder [Removed]results in all emails delivered to your Inbox folder from [Removed] being moved to the Spam folder. Consider removing older blacklist entries as it is likely miscreant's are no longer using those details to spam with and add [Removed]. Should you want to use a filter rule see message 15 in this thread.

Hi @steve3961uk,
Thank you for your posts. I am very sorry to hear you're having some problems with unwanted emails at the moment.
Have you checked your spam filter settings to see if you can update them with the respective email addresses that you want to blacklist? More details on adjusting your spam filter settings can be found here.
Let us know how you get on.
Thanks,

Hi Zach
The Blacklist limit has been reached and rather stupidly the system says to delete some entries which but forgive me for saying is also a stupid idea. It is on Virginmedia main website under the built in email. I have tried it on Ms Outlook too but that will only deliver what I get from the VM server and so if they are not blocked they land and i have then put them in junk. Wasting my time - I pay a lot of money to VM each month and expect better service especially when they keep putting the charges up even in contract. That doesn't mean anything.,

Don’t bother to blacklist them on the VM server You can block them in outlook and if the exact same email address comes through outlook will put it into the bin There doesn’t seem to be a cap on outlook Also please forward them to the address I gave earlier. You will get an automated reply acknowledging your email and saying how many sites they have been able to take down up to the last month
