How do I qualify for Volt benefits?
To be eligible, you must have an active account with both Virgin Media and O2. The Virgin Media and O2 account holder names and addresses must also match. You can check your eligibility and opt in from My Virgin Media.
How long do my Volt benefits take to activate?
It can take up 14 days from the date your services are activated for the benefits to be applied for both Virgin Media and O2 services, but we normally see the O2 benefit being applied first. You'll receive an email once the Virgin Media benefits have been applied, and a text message once the O2 benefits have been applied.
If you joined us before October 18th, 2021, you may also need to enrol via O2 if you haven't done so already. You can do so by logging into their O2 account online at www.accounts.o2.co.uk/signin or via the MyO2 app.
Do I get Volt if I’m an Oomph customer?
Volt is available for customers of both VM and O2, and as Oomph comes with Virgin Mobile - not O2 - then you won't be eligible.
What happens if one person pays the Virgin Media bill, and another pays the O2 bill?
Volt benefits are only available when the Virgin Media and O2 accounts are under the same name but it’s something we’re working on, and it’ll be available soon.
Can I change the name on one account to become eligible for Volt?
Virgin Media customers can’t do this. We'd have to close your account and create a new one under a new name. This means you’d lose your services for up to 24 hours and lose any discounts. It’d also require new credit check and contract.
For O2 customers you can transfer the ownership, but it’s subject to verification checks, including credit checks and we’re unable to guarantee it’ll work.
'You already have Volt benefits, or can't get them in your area' due to name and/or address not matching
The Virgin Media and O2 account holder names and addresses must match exactly but we're looking into solutions for things such as Steve and Stephen etc
