Sad to go.

Just had my contract go up after the 12 month deal ended.

Rang to get the black friday deal, only to be told "NEW CUSTOMERS ONLY". New deal offered was laughable. Off to SKY for us after years of loyalty.

Shame on you Virgin. Look after your existing customers too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Re: Sad to go.

You got a discount for 12 months upon joining. Now you are being asked to pay the full price that everyone else is paying for the same package. Seems fair.
If you want a better price then you are right to go to Sky. After 12 months of introductory discount they will increase your price to that that all other customers are paying. Seems fair.
Then you can move to another supplier for another 12 months discount package.
Its what the regulators intended -- to increase competition in the market. Just how it works.

Re: Sad to go.

Ofcom has recently encouraged ISPs to provide fairer pricing for existing customers. As a result, Sky, BT and TalkTalk have agreed that existing customers can get the same deals as new customers, subject only to re-contracting, but Virgin hasn't agreed to do this.

"BTSky and TalkTalk will allow out-of-contract customers to get the same deals as new customers, when they take out a new contract. (BT will only allow existing customers to access new customer prices when sending end-of-contract and best tariff notifications."

Re: Sad to go.

Thanks for this.

I may try ringing again, but a bit disillusioned with Virgin now.

Re: Sad to go.

That's ridiculous. Who in their right mind would pay almost double, when new customers are being offered these prices!!!
