How to report damage to street equipment

Location:

124 Albert Road Walthamstow, E17 7PU

Description of damage:

would like to report an ongoing issue with cabinet W1235

It seems the doors are damaged, and the cabinet isn't locking.

Each time an engineer attends the cabinet, I have asked them to report it to the depot. When they attend, they leave the cabinet open.

This firstly is a Healthy and Safety issue and secondly with the current weather the doors are consistently banging, this happening throughout the nite which is a disturbing and safety issue for me as I keep thinking someone is breaking into my house.

Can you make this a priority, get this fixed and made presentable?    Can you get back to me with an ETA to resolve the matter.

Re: How to report damage to street equipment

You could try the number (automated) for reporting street box problems - 0330 333 0444

I've linked this thread here: https://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Digital-life/How-to-report-damage-to-street-equipment/bc-p/4620...

You should post on that page.  Hope it gets sorted out.

Cheers.

Re: How to report damage to street equipment

Hello @malatailor, Thanks for reporting it to us and I've passed the details onto our Cabinet Team so it cane be secured. We don't have an ETA but it will be checked and secured as soon as we can.

Thanks,

Re: How to report damage to street equipment

Thank you for the update someone has been; it been secured with tape for now, with is an eyesore., I would also like to talk to the cabinet team about moving the boxes; they are noise and are directly outside my property. One of the cabinets is blocking the fencing. Can a project manager be allocated to look into the feasibility of these,

Re: How to report damage to street equipment

You may find the information in two recent past topics useful regarding the process and obstacles to moving a cabinet

https://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Managing-Your-Account-Cable/Re-Green-Junction-box-removal-reque...

https://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Tech-Chatter/Virgin-green-box/m-p/4685822

The process seems to be along the lines of paying VM to survey the site (which seems to be in the order of £250 from past topics) and then VM may provide you with a quote for the work, if they are willing to do it. If the cabinet you have photographed is the one you want moving, then it appears to contain a large number of cables serving a lot of properties. The cost to move it is also likely to be a large number!

The VM forum team don't often reply on this forum so you may not get an answer direct from them on here, if they have not been in touch with your already about this.

Re: How to report damage to street equipment

This has been ongoing, for the whole of this year. Still today this hasn't been resolved.   I would like a field basis person to come out assess this matter.
