It used to be possible to change device names from the Home Screen 'Hub 5 status overview', however since the latest firmware update it hasn't been possible.

Just had my hub upgraded from a 3 to a 5 and ran into this same issue.
I have a few devices that report an "Unknown" name, however I know what they are and wish to rename them...- FlockWallpaperUp to speed
Unfortunately as Graham, says in the above post, you can't! An 'update' to the software running on the Hub 5s has removed the ability to do this. It may be restored in a future update, or maybe not.

Hi
The rollover 'i' on the connected devices page still says to do what Graham said so hopefully the feature will return. It has remembered the name changes I had already made though, so I guess that's a win!

So 2 years later this is still not fixed... Really VM?

+1 from me. Same issue upgrading Hub 3 to Hub 5. Otherwise the upgrade was very smooth.
@VM - please fix this regression! - Client62Alessandro Volta
Given MAC Address Randomisation is now so prevalent,
naming devices in a DHCP table is a game of a whack-a-mole.
Every few days a new unknown device appears, then another etc etc ...
