Virgin Media are delighted to announce a recent update to all 360 boxes aimed at further improving accessibility options to enhance the user experience for all.

From today voiceover guidance, which is already available on the enlarged TV guide screen, can now also be used for the channel bar too.

What is Voiceover Guidance and how can I switch it on?

When enabled, voiceover guidance will read out the text displayed on the channel bar. To enable this feature, you can switch it on from the Voiceover Guidance option from the new Accessibility screen (see below).

Alternatively, you can press the microphone on your remote control and say ‘Voiceover Guidance on’. These features are also available now on Stream boxes too.

As part of this update, we have also moved all accessibility features onto one Accessibility screen within the Settings menu and can be found next to ‘Profiles’, as can be seen below.

  • So glad this has been added/updated, my wife is blind and can now access the EPG and tell the remote which channel when I’m not around

I have really struggled to use the new controller with my recent Virgin 360 upgrade.

Specifically it keeps anouncing by voice everytime I change channel or even selecting the guide to view programmes...... I cannot figure out how to turn this facility off under "settings" as I do not want this continuous commentary

I really miss the old controller particularly as my fingers are too clumsy for this key pad

HRDTriumph If the box is reading channel names and guide and you don't want it to, go to Settings > Accessibility > Voiceover Guidance and set it to Off.

If Virgin have time to do these updates, then why don't they fix some of the anomalies that still exist from when 360 what launched. Like adding the year of a film to the guide, instead of having to click on the film to get its description to find out, or putting undelete back into recordings section. Both of these existed on the V6 box.
