So if there totally separate is it ok just to cancel the O2 SIM card and keep the Virgin stuff?

So with that, it’s a yes and no,
you can cancel the o2 sim; but you would lose your speed boost, and options to have free pods,

On volt package £85
What would that mean I lose ?

It's a bundled deal and forms part of your agreement, as I suspect you are not out of contract for the bundle because of the discounted price.
In terms of speed loss that another person quoted, there is no equivalent package for 500mbps Ultimate so it could be charged for separate components or similar bundle containing the same. That would most likely work out more expensive.
If you log signal issues with VMO2, (they will do diagnostics to check when at home as you say that will tell them the send and receive signal strength and noise from cell tower to phone) you may be able to "upgrade" via uswitch/moneysavingexpert/o2 to a cheaper O2 SIM deal and suffer no penalty OR they may cancel the SIM their end completely depending on results.

Confused.
Love to hear if anyone's done this.
I'd personally like to cancel O2 and get virgin SIM. As works perfectly at home.
But I want to keep virgin at £54 I'm paying

Cancelling the O2 SIM and going back to Virgin won't improve your reception. Virgin have moved off Vodafone and onto O2.
They are now VMO2, a joint venture between the two companies

I was initially on M100 when I added a SIM. It was only £6 extra to move from just M100 internet only to M200 internet and SIM. The speed was upgraded part of the SIM deal.
If I cancelled the SIM I would be retuned back to M100 as the speed increase was related to the SIM.
Obviously there are other issues around contract which is another grey area.

You won't be able to resolve contract changes on here. You'll have to argue it out with retentions.
