Volt not being applied to my virgin account- customers services not helpful!

I’m hoping someone can help… I have been an o2 customer for over 20 years, my partner who I used to live with paid for virgin broadband under his name, so I received the volt benefits of double data to my account.

Last month he moved out, but I signed up to a new virgin broadband account in my name. I seem to still have the o2 benefits, but customers services on WhatsApp are adamant that I can get the boosted speed, unless I pay to upgrade to that tariff? Everywhere I look it says that I’d automatically get the boosted speed… I argued back and forth for about 2 hours on chat yesterday and the agent said I would have to pay another £10 a month for the boosted Wi-Fi… or I have to get a new sim? Surely this can’t be right?
