Virgin VOLT question. Why O2 and not Virgin Mobile?

Hi all, hope everyone is OK.

I'm trying to reduce my monthly bill (aren't we all!) and I've been pointed at the Virgin VOLT 'deals'. The big question is; why do I have to switch from Virgin Mobile to O2? Surely, it the deals be available for Virgin Mobile customers. Can anyone explain the logic behind this.

I guess that at some point Virgin mobile will disappear since Virgin and O2 merged, if you switch to the ultimate Volt they automatically switch you to the £25 unlimited everything SIM but you can phone O2 and get a SIM linked to Volt that is better for you, usually how much data you use. Your number will be moved to O2, just ask for the PAC code to be sure.
