VOLT existing virgin user not O2

Hi,

I’ve just renewed my contract with virgin and been given an 02 sim as part of the deal.

18month contract with Virgin and 12 months with O2. I am an existing virgin customer but new to O2.

I’ve explained to virgin I wouldn’t be activating the 02 sim and been told that’s fine I can leave it in the corner. I will just be billed £6 a month for 12 months and then just need to contact 02 at the end of the 12 months to cancel the sim.

is this correct? I am still within my 14 days to cancel the contract if this information is wrong.

I’ve seen there have been issues raised about volt managment hence the request for clarification other than just verbal.

Thankyou in advance.

Hello SLSaunders.

Thanks for your first post and welcome to our Community.

You do indeed have 14 days to cancel the package.

Sadly we are not able to amend packages here and this will need to be done by our calling us on 0345 454 1111 or using the contact methods here

Can you please let us know how you get on.

Hi Gareth,

thanks for your message.

I do not need to cancel the new volt contract assuming the sim o2 card can remain unopened and not activated for use.

I’ve spoken to virgin twice who have confirmed this is correct.

I would just prefer also written confirmation, that this is correct; along with confirmation to end my contract with o2 I simply email them in 12 months time.

kind Regards

sarah

Hi Sarah,

Thanks for coming back to us. The SIM is part of your contract so it's there to use if you want. Even without activating it, as long as the bill from O2 is paid then there will be no issues.

It may be worth speaking to the team to see if there is a different deal available that doesn't involve an O2 SIM. This way, you won't be paying for something that you're not using.

Let us know how you get on.

Thanks,
