I was on Virgin SIM only mobile as part of the Virgin Media package. Now that we have downgraded that package to save money we are on "volt" which (for some bizarre reason) means the SIM has to change to O2 (why are Virgin offering a competitors phone service?).
To keep my old number I have a PAC from Virgin and go to the O2 website to input the details. There it says to input my security password: "this is the password you use to contact customer services".
Well, of course I have never contacted O2 customer services so don't have one! I tried the o2 website password (I was required to register an account) and it seemed to accept that, but the next day I got a rejection email saying security information incorrect.
Surely Virgin/O2 have realised that this would happen?
What is the workaround?

Ignore above! It seems that the "password" they are looking for is the answer to a security question I set up when I registered the account. I think of that as an "answer" not a password!

Hi @timo91
I'm pleased to see that you managed to work out that the password required was the answer to the security question. It's the same idea as the password (memorable word) requested by VM
Just for info VM and O2 merged on 1st June 2021, so they aren't selling competitors phone services. They are starting to bring everything inhouse and are in the process of switching their other sims over to O2.

Hoping the number transfer goes through smoothly, but any issues just shout out.
