Purposefully misdated contract - filed complaint

I contacted VM on Monday to talk about my 18-month contract, which is coming to an end in December. Someone got back to me after 18 hours! Agreed to renew my contract for 24/12, which advisor confirmed, for a better price.

Received confirmation email this afternoon - the contract starts TODAY.

Back to Whatsapp, after half a day the message: You opted to start today, we can't backdate it now.

I'm back in the waiting queue to talk to another person.

Filed a complaint with VM, and will use Which? to help me advance this with Ombudsman asap. Ridiculous.

Sorry to hear you had this issue with arranging a new contract with our Team, I can see you have since spoken to us again, were they able to go about helping you further and rectify this for you?
