Pod activation fee on Ultimate Volt

paulh_nwuk
On our wavelength

Have just added wifi pods to my recent Ultimate Volt.
I had previously believed that wifi pods were free.

Now i've just received a Virgin e-mail telling me that I am being charged a £5 activation fee for the pods.
Who knew??

I've found it so difficult to keep track of what Virgin will/won't say or do 😞

Hey paulh_nwuk, thank you for reaching out and I am sorry you have been charged £5 for the pod.

If you are on this package the pod will be free however there is a one off delivery fee for £5 if you chose to have your pod delivered to you.

It is free for Click and Collect however for delivery there is a £5 charge. Thanks

"... there is a one off delivery fee for £5 if you chose ... "

I did NOT 'choose' !!
Virgin never once mentioned a delivery charge when pod was asked for.
Hence, I was NOT offered the option of [free] click and collect either. (Or, I would naturally have chosen that).

I'm not surprised though.
Sadly, the folks in the Virgin 'office' do seem to create an awful lot of the issues on these forums ... and hence an awful lot of customers with a service that otherwise could so easily have been perfect.

Thanks for coming back to us @paulh_nwuk and I'm sorry to hear you weren't advised of this charge.

I've come on here for the same reason. I ordered my 1st WiFi pod which didn't have the £5 fee, but after ordering the 2nd one. I have also been charged aswel. Without being informed of a price attached to it. They don't seem to be upfront about a price

Hey there @Dark_Soul_Rider thanks for reaching out to us and welcome back to the Virgin Media forums.

I'm sorry to hear about the issue with the charges on your latest bill.
If you have received your first pod for free then the second one would be for free as well.
I will look in to this for you and assist you on this matter.
I will send a private message - watch out for the purple envelope inviting you in.

Kind regards,
Ilyas.
