Covid 19

Engineer turned up at my home last night 

No ppe ,nothing.

I refused him access ,"will I come back later" was his question. 

Usual rubbish service from virgin,why do I bother wonder if any one from their service team will get back to me

Sorry for paying you for a service that does not work

So stuck with NO tv

Cannot be bothered phoning the customer services and be kept waiting for ages .

So someone came to fix your service, you turned them away, and now your complaining about having no service!

You can't make it up 😂

There is no requirement for them to have ppe.

it isn't required. there was a bt open reach lady opposite us today fixing things for a renovated house. she wasn't wearing ppe either. so, i then text one of my old bowling friends who occasionally installs for sky. he said they can wear them but it is personal choice.

what precautions their techs will take if they have to visit your home. Of course, everyone needs to be cautious but unless you fall into the category of a vulnerable person the precautions that VM techs take are simply commensurate with normal safe behaviour. You didn't need to be in the same room as the tech. You could have distanced yourself as you might have done if your were having your boiler repaired where there is no requirement for PPE, just safe behaviour. And bear this in mind. the techs are just as much at risk from you as you are from them. 

If you don't re-book you'll be without service for a long while. They are very busy catching up and you won't necessarily be at the top of their list now.

I think that comment deserves to be simply ignored, since I have read the Government's guidance until I am sick of it. I have a passing professional interest. Enjoy looking at a blank screen (unless you have Freeview).

plus if they sent an engineer and you refused to allow then to work they can charge your for the callout or the next call out

Can we please confirm if you're able to check all the cables going into the back of the Tivo box are firmly connected? Please pay extra attention to the white cable as the error code would suggest this would be the one that may be at fault. you can also double check this is firmly connected to the wall socket.
