installed new tivo box, getting 7400 error

Hi, replaced an old box in my mum's house with a new tivo box, and it's been stuck on a 7400 error for two days, have switched off and on, etc. still nothing. Help?

Hi did you follow the instructions to phone the activation no, if not the box needs activating that is what that code indicates. Regards Micky

I did not see instructions in the activation guide to call an activation number. It said to switch on and allow it to download software for up to 30 mins, etc. and then we'd be go. Which number should i call please?

Thanks, we did this and it's working now but ... our main tv now has the same 7400 error, it's on a v6 box -- did they deactivate something when they activated the tivo box?

Hi Lofty,

it sounds like your mam may have 2 boxes and that you need to contact them again with the serial number for the V6 they have switched off in error
