Virgin TV Forum Section Closure

So you've arbitrarily decided to close this section of the forum with an announcement closed for comments.

Your explanation that its adequately covered by the existing Hardware sections is entirely scpecious.

Many discussions the hardware is irrelevant.  For example changes in package/picks/bundles or even the PDF Channel Guide.

So what's the real reason?

Divide and conquer?

Re: Virgin TV Forum Section Closure

Yeah, the closure seems silly as it's the appropriate place to ask questions about the TV packages and other miscellaneous topics that don't fit into the hardware specific forums.

Also many issues affect all 3 hardware offerings. For example, the service area has a problem.

Re: Virgin TV Forum Section Closure

Hi,

Thanks for your feedback on the board closure decision. The board itself is meant as a catch-all for all of our legacy TV services which didn't have enough interest to warrant separate boards of their own.

It was never intended as a place for general discussion, as we've always looked at TV issues on a per-product basis given the different platforms that can underpin the services. Having things posted based on the product somebody is using helps to identify if there are any platform-specific problems we need to investigate further.

Re: Virgin TV Forum Section Closure

Interesting, but I've never seen any pinned post explaining what VM consider the board was for, so went by the obvious interpretation of the sub title.

It has the second highest number of posts. Whether correctly placed or not, it shows what the contributors think the purpose is.

I'd suggest again, many users know the difference between platform-specific and generic issues.

What are the implications of keeping this clearly popular board in terms of resources against the chances of confusion over the generic TV Service subjects?

Please reconsider your reasons and the decision to greatly reduce Customer Services.
