I've been trying to connect to the SkySports app on my laptop for the past few days, which until recently I have been able to do with no problem, and it cuts out after five seconds with the above error code. Searching for this code on the web indicates that I have either have malware problems, or that I have screen recording software on my laptop. I have malware protection software and it hasn't returned any problems, but since lockdown I have had Zoom & MS Teams on my laptop for work purposes. Neither program is currently running, but is this the reason the app keeps cutting out? If so, what can I do to make the app work as before?
it sounds like either Zoom or MS Teams are running in the background. Sky have hard coded their apps to prevent screen sharing. If you try print screen when Sky Sports app is running, windows will still print all of the screen, however the Sky Sports portion will be blank.
Here is a Workaround: Instead of closing the zoom window, right-click on the taskbar icon and select "Quit Zoom". In the Zoom settings, you can uncheck "When closed, minimize window to the notification area instead of the task bar". Like this, Zoom will never run acidentally in the background, but you will always see from the taskbar if it is still open or not. The same probably works for MS Teams.
You can probably see both applications running in the background in Task manager and can also close them from there.

If there is no other screen-sharing software active on the device that could account for this, can you rule out the malware side of things? Please try running a check with malware protection software and let us know if that helps at all.
I had the same problem. I have read lots of forums and the common theme seemed to be other apps that hd the potential to copy or snip the sky sports stream. I removed Zoom and skype and anything else I thought could be the issue. Still the same issue.
Then I remembered my son had made a movie on my macbook using iMovie. It was still open. Once I quite iMovie the Skyports app worked fine and didnt cut off after the 5-7 seconds that it had been doing and displaying the error VGC-4253024462:4253024462.
