As per https://www.virginmedia.com/help/virgin-tv-error-codes/w02 this is a loss of signal fault which needs reporting to Virgin Media. Are you using a TiVo or a V6? Check here if you're not sure.
This won't have any direct effect on your internet, unless the signal issue is on your common cabling and is also causing issues with your internet. W02 relates to your TV signals, not the internet.
You say it's been happening for some time, I'd recommend you report service-affecting faults - they tend not to go away until whatever is causing them, is fixed/repaired.
