It is taking upwards of 10 minutes each time I switch the Virgin box on for anything to show on the screen. I can't get through to anyone on the telephone & I want to book an engineer to come & fix it.
Do you have a TiVo or a V6 - if you're not sure, check here
10 minutes to bootup isn't excessive for a TiVo to be fair, does the box come on without any errors? Or do you mean waking the box from standby? If so, what're your power saving settings? Doing this from memory, but Home > Help & Settings > Settings > Devices > Power saving
