Do you have a TiVo or a V6? The advice is the same regardless, but the V6 relies on a connection to your VM Broadband Hub to access the internet, whereas the TiVo has its connection built in... and the internet connection is what brings the guide data down.
Home > Help & Settings > Settings > Network. When was the last connection? Is there a reason given for a recent connection failure? If in doubt, "connect to network now", step away for 20 or so minutes and recheck.
